The gauge is based on a stranded swatch that was blocked. For those who’s stranded knitting is very tight, you may need to add a few more repeats of the charts. The pattern is fairly adaptable, so any extra chart repeats are compensated through the shaping at the crown.

Appalachia is a two stranded color work beanie. There are instructions for making a regular or slouchy beanie. A skein of each of the recommended yarns is enough to make one slouchy and one regular beanie.
