Aquilegia Alpina” is part of the collection of patterns inspired by the “Monti Pallidi (Pale Mountains)”, a chain of mountains in the Italian Dolomites.
Columbine was once considered to be a magical plant; it was used by witches and associated with the moon. It was thought that this plant was linked to the emotional sphere and could be used by witches to make people fall in or out of love.
According to an ancient legend, Columbine means betrayal.

Aquilegia Alpina” is a top-down cardigan knit in one piece.
A series of small eyelets is used to add interest to the garter stitch. These eyelets can be used as buttonholes for small buttons along the front opening.
The cardigan has short sleeves and all of the edges are finished off with an i-cord border.
