arabesque cowl
Arabesque is always appropriate…this cowl is a bit of a twist on the floral design.
This is a pattern for a stranded work cowl. It is worked from the bottom up and in the round. The size can easily be adjusted by, knitting more panel repeats. This cowl may be worked in any yarn weight with yarn amount adjustments.
yarn:
Andean Treasure by, Knit Picks; Sport / 5 ply; 100% Alpaca; 110yds (101m) / 50 grams
approximate yarn amounts:
MC- 1 (2) skeins
CC - 1 (2) skeins
needles:
4.0mm (us no 6)
gauge:
28 sts x 28 rows = 4”/10cm st st, worked flat on 4.0mm
Gauge is not critical to this project, but will affect size and yardage.
Some knitters knit stranded work tighter than one colour. Please, keep gauge consistent throughout, you may need to go down 2 needles sizes for the one colour sections!
