The Aran Afternoon Scarf will only take you one afternoon to knit – hence the name! It features a repeating cable motif worked over 10 rows, on a garter stitch background. The scarf is of a size you can wear tucked into a jacket or coat, but if you wish, you can knit a longer scarf with more cable repeats, or you can sew the ends together of a shorter scarf to create a cosy cowl. Using 2 skeins of Drops Polaris, the scarf measures 8 inches x 38 inches/20cm x 96 cm.

As a knitter from the Aran Islands, I love adapting traditional Aran motifs to work in more modern styles : )
