Unisex Aran Beanie
It has been a pleasure working with Blacker Yarns once again, on our first project of the year.

Since it’s Winter and the weather has been so cold this year, using their lovely multi tonal warm and comfortable Aran wool was a great choice.

I didn’t choose the shade of yarn, but have fallen in love with this wonderful palette of colour, with tiny flecks of blue infused with those rich golden tones.

As a child my mum used to dress me in shades of brown and green, to compliment my hair colour. All I wanted was pink… but I must admit I would wear this with pride.

This Beanie is supposed to be a snug fit. It can be made with or without the detailed picot design edge. Something just simple, it has an ‘ABBA-esque’ feel to it, suitable to go with any outfit.

As I have said in the pattern, always do your Tension Square and adjust as stated, if need be.
Yarn: For the best results, I recommend the gorgeous Aran Tweed, a blend of British Wool from the West Country
Ball/Skein Length: c.100g (c.155m. c.170yds)
Finish (Woollen or Worsted): Woollen
Handle:. Medium

Blacker Yarns specialise in breed specific British Wool yarn, all spun and processed in Cornwall and consist of 100% natural fibres.

The pattern could be knitted with other Aran wool, but do your test square first to ensure you are going to have enough yarn.

The pattern uses:

  • 100g of Aran yarn
  • 7 stitch markers and a wool needle to sew together.
