The Aran Diamond Cafetière Cosy uses a traditional Aran diamond stitch pattern to work a rectangular cosy shape, which is finished by knitting three tabs with buttonholes. The seed stitch from the centre diamonds is echoed in the border, although the central diamond can easily be left plain for knitters less confident in their ability to work consistent seed stitch.

One size is given, to suit a standard 8-cup French press/cafetiere.

For practicality, a machine-washable yarn is recommended. Also required are:

5mm (US8) knitting needles (straight or circular – cosy is worked flat) Knitter’s sewing needle/tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)
Cable needle
3 x buttons around 1” (2.5cm) in diameter
Sewing needle & thread (for attaching buttons)
