This pattern also comes with PDFs to knit the Ribron Cowl (4 skeins of Arbor) and the Arbor Moss Shawl (8 skeins of Arbor).

I designed this cozy pattern especially for the debut of Brooklyn Tweed Arbor hand dyed by House of A La Mode in Portland, Oregon. I spent a colorful weekend with Heather Dean Bostic of House of A La Mode yarns to curate and dye custom Arbor kits for Stephen & Penelope in Amsterdam. Our creative time was spent basically diving into boxes in the BT warehouse with every skein sticking to our hands like velcro as we drove off with a box filled with new yarn babies.

Heather meticulously crafted each color to coordinate with a light-to-dark palette of Arbor solids as I yelled, “More speckles!” all weekend. We had a blast concocting each color for your knitting pleasure and I hope you take the time to admire more of Heather’s dyeing artistry.

Select three solid colors and one hand dyed beauty to knit this cowl + yoke aka Cowlyoke! The cowl begins with two-color brioche and garter stitch panels knit on a bias followed by stockinette and reverse stockinette panels for the spiraling yoke. Stripe and fade the colors together towards the hemmed edge. You can choose a picot hem or a regular straight hem to complete this elegant accessory.*
