Description from magazine: ‘A geometric arrangement of framed diamond ripples along the body of this sweeping lace stole. Donna Druchunas drew inspiration for her lace pattern from a pieced motif she saw on the trim of a furry Alaskan parka. The stole is a variation on a project from her new book, Arctic Lace: Knitting Projects Inspired by Alaska's Native Knitters (Nomad Press, 2006). Although the original was worked in qiviut, a silky fingering-weight merino makes a beautiful substitution.’

NOTE ABOUT SIZE: Please note that the stole actually blocks out to 60” long. It was that long when I sent it to Interweave and when they photographed it, they found that it had shrunk to only 48” long. When I got the project back from them I reblocked it to 60” long and it has stayed at that length ever since. I am guessing that it was very humid where they did the photo shoot. I can’t think of any other reason that the blocking didn’t hold. -- Donna Druchunas
