Artificial Silk Dress
This very simple dress is worked in six parts—skirt, bodice, 2 side bodice panels, and 2 sleeves. The skirt is in crochet, and the bodice is all in knitting, the side pieces being joined by a strip of spaces in crochet.
Measurements.—Length of bodice from neck to waist, front and back, 14 ins. Length of bodice from shoulder to waist, front and back, 17 ins. Length from top of shoulder at neck to end of sleeve, 14 ins. Width round sleeve at bottom edge, 12 ins. Width of neck opening across front and back, 6 ins. Width of bodice back and front (with side pieces attached), 22 ins. Length of skirt from waist to longest point, 31 ins. Width round skirt, 56 ins. Length of whole dress from top of shoulder to bottom of skirt, 48 ins.
Tension.—6 stitches in knitting to an inch, and 7 trebles, which is 2 blocks, or 2 spaces to an inch in crochet.
Materials.—To give the necessary tension, a pair of No. 8 needles should be used.
The model was knitted in artificial silk.
