Comfortable and casual, a hand-knit hoodie in your favorite color is perfect for cool evenings and chilly days. Originally published as a KAL with step-by-step instructions, the pattern has now been updated into a single pdf with lots of info for customizing and lots of progress photos to help you along. The KAL is over, but the threads are still around for reference/questions!

Beginning at the shoulders and knit top down using Barbara Walker’s Simultaneous Set-In Sleeve method, this reverse stockinette hoodie is seamless. But don’t worry! You will not be purling the whole sweater in the round! Purling is only required when working flat and for the garter sleeve cuffs.

I’ve listed lots of yarn choices - any DK/light worsted is a possibility, but be sure to swatch! (Madelinetosh 80/10/10 Sport knits up at a DK weight.) The cream-colored sample shown is being worn with slight negative ease in madelinetosh Tosh Merino DK; the grey sample was knit in Rowan Pure Worsted and is being worn with about 3” of positive ease. Check the schematic and choose the size that gives you the amount of ease you prefer.

Included in your purchase is a sheet of modifications necessary to knit the hoodie in stockinette instead of reverse stockinette.
