Asian black bear (Moon bear)
This pattern is inspired by the Asian black bear, a species classified as Endangered (Class I) in Korea, known for the white crescent marking on its chest.
Finished size: approx. 12 cm wide × 18 cm tall.
Materials:
• Bio Shetland (BC Garn) Fingering (100% wool, 280 m / 50 g), worked with two strands held together
Gauge:
20 sts × 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm
Work at a slightly tight gauge for a firm stuffed shape.
Needles:
4.0 mm double-pointed needles
Notions:
Black embroidery thread, tapestry needle, embroidery needle, stitch markers, waste yarn, stuffing
Construction:
Worked seamlessly in the round from the legs to the head. Arms are worked separately and attached. Chest marking and facial details are finished with embroidery.
