applying a simple code to your knit
A predictable progression from garter to mesh. Pick a color that you love in a yarn that will show the pert garter ridges as equally as the yarn overs in the eyelets and you will have the perfect recipe for a shawl that is both graphic and supple, modern and timeless.
This is my favorite kind of knitting. Easy and predictable without being boring. Don’t let that fool you. This shawl is engaging. Every row is different. Yes, every row is different and I still called it easy. Here is the trick. There is a strict internal logic to the pattern, once grasped there is no need to refer back to the pattern at all, just do what you need to do at the markers and knit blissfully on.
Yes, This is less of a pattern and more of a code. Binary patterns. Simple mathematics. You can do this. It’s not as hard as it looks. Be sure to read all the way through before starting. This is an unconventional pattern and you should know what you are getting into.
