Inspired by the movement of stars across the night sky, this generously-sized shawl features a simple lace perfect for an easy and quick-to-knit project. Asteria is worked in one piece from a few cast on stitches, and increases are worked along one edge shaping it into a modern asymmetric triangle.

The shawl can be worked with beads along the edges for extra sparkle and drape, and the placement of the beads is included in the charts. However, the beads are optional and the shawl can be worked without them, making this project suitable for the first-time lace knitter.

Yarn
Miss Babs Estrellita (92% Superwash Merino Wool, 8% Lurex; 800 yards/730 meters/8 ounces/230 grams), 1 skein, shown in Cranberries. Or 720 yards/660 meters of fingering weight yarn.

Needles
US 6 4.00 mm circular needle, 32” or longer

Gauge
20 Stitches and 28 Rows = 4”/10 cm in pattern stitch, blocked
Note: Correct gauge is not critical for this project, but your final measurements and yardage requirements may vary if your gauge is different.
