At the Edges Scarf
by Sara Lamb
Yarn: 2-ply; 500 yd; 940 ypp; 13 wpi.
A 47-inch circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches. Scarf is worked from the long edge.
Pattern: 2-row repeat
From the pattern:
I ended up with two skeins, one green to sand, and the other sand to blue, which I then knitted into one long lengthwise “beach.” I made up a pattern that would accentuate the “beach” quality of the colors: knitted lengthwise, starting with blue water, graduating through muga silk/wool sand, and ending with green grasses and plants, with a pattern of increases and decreases that emulated irregular waves on the shore. I based the number of increases in each section on the Fibonacci sequence, but not in strict Fibonacci order.
