If you purchase 4 or more patterns from my Ravelry Shop at the same time (add them all to your cart before you check out), you automatically receive a 20% discount.
Worked from the top down in one piece. The pattern includes 2 versions that differ only in the way the edges are made. The EASY VERSION requires knowledge of basic CO on and BO methods. The I-CORD VERSION produces a more polished edge, and uses i-cord CO and i-cord BO for all edges. Instructions for i-cords are provided in the pattern.
Choose a dk or sport weight yarn that has a recommended gauge of 22-24 sts/10 cm, and drapes well (e.g. contains some silk, bamboo, alpaca, etc.).

Test Knit Contest Details:
Dec. 5, 2010 -
First, I have to say I am SO impressed with the overall quality of the feedback, and by all the beauties I had the pleasure of watching pop up over the last week! This was so much fun :).
As hard as it was to narrow down the finalists, it was WAY harder to select winners for both categories, but alas, I must. Here are the results:
Best Feedback on Pattern:
torontoknitter is the winner. (Of note is that she intends to donate this to Knitters without Borders. Awesome, Kate!)
Runners up are:
yvonnegut
larisa
fiddleflower
And I really must give an honourable mention to each and everyone who provided feedback. Every bit of it was helpful.
Best FO and Photo:
Tie between Thao713 and Lollia
Honourable mention goes to:
seashoreknits - for the fabulous props in the photo :)
theuncommonthread - for a fabulous yarn dye job;
chumon, torontoknitter, and laylor13 - for especially nice yarn choices that really suit the pattern and show off the design;
larisa - for styling!
Nov. 12, 2010 - Thank you everyone for your interest in participating in the contest. I was a little overwhelmed :), and it was not easy to cut down the numbers!
If you are a Finalist, you have now been notified. I will not announce who you are, but you may reveal yourself if you like, by linking your project to this page.
Nov. 7, 2010 - Atelier Test Knit - Contest Rules
-
There are 2 contests: Best Feedback on Pattern, and Best FO and Photo. You may enter both, and it is possible to win both!
-
If you would like to enter, send me a private Ravelry message by midnight, Thursday November 11, 2010 (Standard Mountain Time (SMT)). Please indicate: (a) which contest(s) you wish to enter, (b) which size you will be making, and (c) which yarn you intend to use. Please see below for sizes and yarn requirements.
-
I will select a group of Finalists, ideally covering a range of sizes. I don’t know how many Finalists there will be, since I don’t know how much interest there will be at this time.
-
The prize for each contest is $50 US. You must have a PayPal account to receive a prize.
-
To be eligible to win Best Feedback on Pattern or Best FO and Photo contest, FO photos must be posted on Ravelry by midnight December 4, 2010 (SMT). For the Best Feedback on Pattern contest, the pattern feedback must have been sent to me by the same time. All Finalists will also receive any 3 of my current patterns of their choice, providing they meet these deadlines.
-
For the Best Feedback on Pattern contest, I will send a form that should be used to provide feedback on the pattern. It will cover the way the pattern is written, the design, the fit, etc. I will be looking for feedback that is most helpful, complete and constructive. The feedback must be in English, but it does not matter if your English is not perfect!
-
One or more photos of the winner of the Best FO and Photo contest may be featured on the final version of the pattern and on the Ravelry pattern page. The winner will be judged entirely by my personal opinion, possibly with input from friends and family :). I will consider styling, photo quality, how well the design is presented, overall look and feel, etc.
-
If you are a Finalist, you will be notified on or before November 14, 2010 (SMT), and will receive the draft pattern and the feedback form by this date as well.
-
I may alter any of the dates noted above if I determine they are hindering the process for any reason.
Pattern: Easy, top-down, seamless.
Gauge: 22 st/ 10 cm (4 inches)
Ideal yarn choices would have a recommended gauge of 22-24 sts/10 cm, drape well (e.g. contain some silk, bamboo, alpaca, etc.) and have at least 150 m per 50 g. The one I used has only about 130 m, and it’s ok, but I think a little lighter might be nicer.
Sizes: XS (S, M1, M2, L1) L2 , XL, XXL
Finished bust (inches): 31 (34, 37, 40, 43) 45, 48, 52
Finished bust (cm): 78 (85, 93, 100, 107) 113, 120, 129
