MATERIALS

• Murray and Co. Wool Goods Classic Sock (MC) (fingering weight; 75% merino, 25% nylon; 463 yds/ 423 m per 100g skein), 1 skein: ‘Graveyard Bats’ OR 463 yds / 423 m of fingering weight yarn
• Murray and Co. Wool Goods Wisp Lace (CC) (lace weight; 72% kid mohair, 28% silk; 459yds/ 420 m per 50g skein), 1 skein: ‘Moth’ OR 459 yds / 420 m of lace weight mohair
• US 5 (3.75 mm) 32” / 80 cm circular needle
• Fixed / ring stitch markers (14)

FINISHED SIZE

• 23” / 58.5 cm neckline circumference
• 28” / 71 cm shoulder circumference

PROJECT GAUGE

26 sts and 38 rows = 4” / 10 cm in stitch pattern worked flat, taken after blocking

NOTES

• This cowl is knit flat, starting along the bottom edge. Shaping is decreased along the neckline to the top corner.
• The MC and CC yarns will be held double throughout the cowl (unless otherwise noted).
• On all RS rows following Row 1 of the first section, slip markers as encountered.
• The cowl is wet-blocked and then seamed post-blocking.
• You may wear the cowl with the seam at the center back of neck and the bottom point will sit off center as per the cover photo. Alternatively you may wear the cowl with the seam at the side of our neck to allow the point to hang centered on your body.
• Written instructions are provided for the entirety of the cowl. There are no charts.
• Adjust needle size as necessary to match gauge.
