Athena's Crown
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
This headband uses the double-knit technique for extra thickness and warmth. Double-knitting creates a self-lining without sewing. The I-cord embellishment is simple to make and is attached with a yarn needle. A schematic for laying out the I-cord is provided in the pattern. The headband tapers at the neck and closes in the back with a single button.
This headband can be made in any single-color heavy worsted or bulky-weight yarn. One skein of yarn is more than sufficient.
Equipment:
- US Size 8 (Metric Size 5) needles
- Two Size 8 (Metric Size 5) double-pointed needles
- A yarn needle
- Stitch marker
- Sewing needle and sewing thread in a contrasting color
Additional materials:
- One 1-inch (~2.5 cm) diameter button
- sewing thread in a contrasting color (for basting)
