Audrey the Festive Bear
Audrey the Festive Bear is dressed for Christmas! Inspired by a Christmas dance my daughter did with a friend - she is a sweet bear wearing a rosy, red bow and is full of cheer.
This pattern is an easy design and uses US terminology. A knowledge of how to crochet is essential as it does not teach you how to crochet, it simply provides instructions for you to make the toy.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Audrey is approx. 12cm seated.
You will need:
- 2.5mm hook/C-2
- 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted >50g of TAN, 25g of RED, less for BLACK and WHITE
- BLACK and WHITE embroidery thread
- a pair of 8mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually worked in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- I’ve used the Ricorumi DK cotton in the following colours: o RED = colour 028 Red o TAN = colour 053 Caramel o WHITE = colour 001 White o BLACK = colour 060 Black
