Aurora
The inspiration behind this asymmetric triangle shawl is an early morning lavender colored sky. A few clouds are floating along the clear and fresh firmament. Breathing in the calm silence, it’s a magical start into the day. By designing the beautiful Aurora Shawl the airy and hopeful feeling is captured.
Aurora starts with just a few stiches and shapes itself through increases on one side and decreases on the other - while garter stich allows your mind to thrive. Short rows, eyelets and a lace border catch the eye and add harmony to the design.
The light and relaxed feeling is given by using fingering weight yarn or double held lace yarn. Choosing alpaca or merino blend yarn makes this shawl soft, warm and very cozy at the same time, like a little hug.
Through your selection of yarn you can influence whether you want a light and hugging shawl (by using sock or lace weight yarn) or a more warming and protecting one (by using light worsted weight for example). Also choose your colors in balance with each other or contrasting to one another to may give this shawl a very different face.
Advanced beginner’s level.
