Aurore is knitted from top down seamlessly. The back is worked first, with a large number of increases. Once all the increases have been worked, the back continues with the lace pattern and the Stockinette stitch. The shoulder lines are slightly recessed in the back.
Then stitches are then picked up along each shoulder line to form the each fronts. Back and front are joined and knitted in a circular pattern, while continuing with the lace pattern and the Stockinette stitch. The sleeves stitches are picked up and work in the round, gathered at the cuffs. They are knitted in Stockinette stitch with a reminder of the lace stitch pattern on the top of the sleeve. The neckline, the hem and cuffs are finished in half-twisted ribbing.
It’s a pleasant project, punctuated by the lace pattern, the short repeats are easy to remember.

The lace pattern is modified from various lace charts found in the Japanese knitting stitch bible by Hitomi Shida.

Pure silk, Knitting for Olive, 100% silk(250 m/50g), Haze held together with a strand of Soft Silk Mohair, Knitting for Olive, 70 % mohair et 30 % soie, Soft Peach.

Aurore has been worked by holding together two strands, a fingering yarn and a lace yarn. You can replace these two yarns with a single strand of sport to DK weight yarn that given you the right gauge.

Approx
• (1070, 1170, 1290) 1380, 1500, 1670 (1830, 2000, 2100) m /
(1175, 1280, 1415) 1510, 1645, 1830 (2005, 2190, 2300) yards of similar weight yarn for each strand.

Gauge
• 23 sts x 32 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches of Stockinette stitch, knitted flat, after blocking.
• 23 sts x 32 rounds = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches of stockinette stitch in the round on larger needles, after blocking.
• 23 sts x 32 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches of lace pattern (chart B, see p8), knitted flat, on larger needles, after blocking.
• 23 sts x 32 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches of lace pattern (chart B, see p8), in the round on larger needles, after blocking.

As long as the difference remains reasonable, you can opt for the needles that gets you the correct stockinette stitch gauge.

Needles
• 4 mm US 6 circular needles for the body and sleeves.
• 3,25 mm US 4 circular needles for ribbing.

Always use the needle size that gives you the right gauge, adjust if necessary.

Aurore se tricote du haut vers le bas (top-down) sans couture. On commence par tricoter le dos en réalisant dans un premier temps un grand nombre d’augmentations. Les mailles sont ensuite relevées le long de chaque ligne d’épaules pour former les devants de l’ouvrage. Les lignes d’épaules sont placés légèrement en retrait dans le dos. Dos et devant sont assemblés puis tricotés en circulaire tout en poursuivant le motif de dentelle. Les mailles des manches sont relevées puis tricotées ensuite en circulaire en jersey.
L’ensemble des finitions de l’encolure, du corps et des manches se font en côtes torses.
C’est un projet agréable rythmé par le point de dentelle.

La dentelle s’inspire de motifs figurant dans le livre d’Hitomi Shida : « The Japanese knitting stitch bible ».

Fil 
Nécessite un fil ou un mélange de fil de type sport à DK.

Le modèle de présentation a été tricoté en tenant deux fils ensemble:
• un brin de Pure silk de Knitting for Olive, 100% bourette de soie (250 m/50g), couleur : Haze
• et un brin de Soft Silk Mohair de Knitting for Olive, 70 % mohair et 30 % soie, couleur : corail

Aurore a été tricoté en tenant ensemble de deux fils, un fil fingering avec un fil lace. Vous pouvez remplacer ces deux fils par un seul fil de type sport à DK vous permettant d’obtenir l’échantillon recherché.

Métrage
environ  (1070, 1170, 1290) 1380, 1500, 1670 (1830, 2000, 2120) m pour chacun des fils.

Échantillon 
• 23 mailles x 32 rangs en jersey pour un carré tricoté de 10 cm par 10 cm après blocage.
• 23 mailles x 32 rangs avec le motif de dentelle principal (cf. diag C)

Tant que l’écart reste raisonnable vous pouvez privilégier l’échantillon réalisé en jersey.

Matériel 
• Aiguille circulaire en 4 mm ou de la taille nécessaire pour obtenir le bon échantillon.
• Aiguille circulaire en 3,25 mm pour les finitions des manches et de l’encolure.

Utilisez toujours une taille d’aiguille qui vous permet d’obtenir le bon échantillon, au besoin, ajustez-la.
