A drop-shoulder sweater is often the choice as a “first sweater” because of the minimal amount of shaping. But that doesn’t mean it has to be an endless sea of stockinette (unless that’s what you want). Austin is a unisex design that takes the drop shoulder and adds a surprisingly easy slip-stitch pattern in three colors to make a sweater that’s not only interesting to knit but also fun to wear.
