Austria Mittens
This pattern is
available for free.
Mittens inspired by the traditional embroidery and textiles of Austria.
It is important to get gauge to get the size stated in the pattern. The sample was knit with a fingering yarn for the black and a lace weight for the color. It was still possible to get the correct gauge, but using two fingering yarns will make it a little easier.
Used approximately 40g of the black yarn (about 200 yards) and 20g of the colored yarn (about 100-110 yards)
The page where you can download the mitten pattern has a chart for those who need a shorter thumb. I made the original for someone with a 3” thumb, but there is also a chart for a 2.5” thumb available.
