A super-soft yarn worked with two colors held together creates a dramatic transition between shades. The hat begins at the crown, and then stitches are picked up and worked sideways in garter stitch. The fingerless mitts are worked side to side and grafted at the end.
Sizes 5¾ (6½, 7½)“ hand circumference; shown in size 6½”
Yarn Shibui Knits Cima (70% superbaby alpaca, 30% fine merino wool; 328 yd 299 m/50g):
• #115 brick (MC), 1 skein
• #2001 abyss (CC), 1 skein
Gauge 24 sts and 46 rows = 4” in garter st with 2 strands held tog

• Size 3 (3.25 mm) needles
• Stitch holders
• Tapestry needle
• Size D/3 (3.25 mm) crochet hook
• Waste yarn for provisional CO
