Baba Yaga's House
This is my knitted interpretation of the famous Baba Yaga’s house.
The house is knit in pieces, and sewn together. To hold its shape a sturdy cardboard or piece of plywood is insert between the knitted layers. The roof is removable and the chicken legs are optional.
Finished Measurements:
9.5” (24 cm) wide, 18.5” (47 cm) long (including the porch), and 15” (38 cm) tall (without the legs).
Suggested Yarn: Worsted Weight Yarn.
Cascade 220 Superwash (100% Superwash Wool; 220 yards / 200 meters per 100 g / 3.5 oz): # 858 Dark Ginger – MC (3 skeins), # 211 Cocoa – C1 (4 skeins), # 877 Golden – C2 (1 skein), # 228 Frosted Almond – C3 (1 skein), # 873 Extra Crème Cafe – C4 (2 skeins), # 846 Blue – C5 (1 skein).
Yardage:
500 yards / 457 meters of MC, 780 yards / 713 meters of C1, 20 yards / 18 meters of C2 and C5, 40 yards / 36.5 meters of C3, 300 yards / 274 meters of C4.
Pictured sample is made out of scrap yarn, The chicken legs were made to order from a piece of maple wood.
