The blanket is knit from the bottom up and is knit flat. There is a garter
stitch border on the bottom and the top as well as on both the left and right edges of the blanket.

The cable pattern is a modification of the Chevron Share Tight from Norah Gaughan’s fantastic cable stitch dictionary, Knitted Cable Sourcebook. If you love cables like I do, I highly recommend this book.

The cables are worked every 8 rows and you are essentially cabling
ribbing. That may sound funny, but it gives this pattern the advantage of
looking attractive on both sides of your work. No worries that the back of
the blanket is showing rather than the front of the blanket.
