Baby Leaf Yoke Cardigan
While reworking my Leaf Yoke Cardi/Vest, I had the idea to work a baby version of this design using a smaller leaf for the yoke.
It is a cute, quick knit for baby.
Sizes: 0-3 Months (17”), 6-9 months (19”), 12-18 months (21”), 2-3 Years (23”)
0-3 Months size is made using a size 4 needle and working to a gauge of 5.5 sts = 1”.
6-9 Months size is made using a size 6 needle and working to a gauge of 5 sts =1”.
12-18 Months size is made using a size 7 needle and working to a gauge of 4.5 sts =1”.
2-3 Years size is made using a size 8 needle and working to a gauge of 4 sts =1”.
MATERIALS
200 (225-250-275) yards DK or Worsted Weight
I would use Sport weight or DK on the first two sizes, but NOT on the last two.
I would use worsted weight on either of the last three sizes.
20-in circular needle, size 4 (3.50 mm) for size 0-3 Months
Size 6 (4.00 mm) for size 6-9 Months
Size 7 (4.50 mm) for size 12-18 Months
Size 8 (5.00 mm) for size 2-3 Years
Needle size is ONLY a recommendation.
