These simple baby socks are made with either worsted or DK weight yarn. The heel is unusual, but not at all difficult. Easy to memorize and make all your socks this way. Like a short row heel, there is less bulk at the back & sides of the sock, but zero accidental holes. The pattern is mostly written toe up, but you can definitely work it in the cuff down direction, just doing one step at the end of the heel turn differently, which is explained in the pattern.

A great way to learn the FLEEGLE HEEL.. I have made about a hundred pairs of socks, and I do them all this way because it fits best.

If you want to confuse a veteran sock knitter, ask if they know the “fleegle heel”.
