Baby Socks (cuff down)
Just about the plainest possible baby or toddler socks-- and therefore likely the most useful and practical. The pattern provides good detailed instructions for knitting them in one size only (for baby-- toddler size is provided by changing gauge; see second gauge glyph below, in which we extrapolate the appropriate needle size). It’s an excellent exercise for learning to knit with double-pointed needles, small and quick. This is a great pattern for a swift baby gift: a last-minute shower present, or nice warm winter socks for the active new walker and his or her first pair of winter boots.
