For a limited time, in honor of the pattern release of the Baby Jughead hat, both the baby and the adult patterns will be on sale for 50% off. Sale runs through Dec 31, 2020.

The baby “Whoopee” hat is similar to the one worn by Jughead Jones in the popular TV series, Riverdale. To make the hat, the brim is worked sideways in garter. Then stitches are picked up along the brim and the body of the hat is worked bottom up in the round.

Size: 0-3mos (3-6mos, 6-12mos, 1-3yrs, 3-10yrs)
Measurements: Finished Circumference: 12 (14, 16, 18, 20)”
Height (folded): 6 (7, 7 ½, 8, 9)”.
Materials: Approximately 75 (95, 115, 140, 170) yds of dK weight wool, darning needle, stitch marker, optional- red button and small rectangular piece of white fabric if you really want your hat to look like Jughead’s.
Sample shown is size 0-3 months and was knit with 75 yds of
Cape May Fiber Company DK Merino Superwash in color- Mollusk.
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4” in st st, 20 sts and 40 rows = 4” in garter st. Note gauge is not so important for this hat as there is a lot of stretch and it is a generous size. If you get a gauge anywhere between 5 and 5 1/2 sts per inch in st st, as is typical for dk weight yarn your hat will fit well.
Needle: US 5 (3.75mm) 16” circular and set of double points or size needed to get gauge.

If you prefer to have one knit for you I will be making these hats and selling them on Etsy for a brief time.
