Babyrain Hatbow: a baby hat (seen at the bank)
I saw this hat, or at least a hat very like this one, while standing in line at the bank. So cute! And not in the Ravelry database (surprisingly), so my work was cut out for me… There are two variants, one with the rainbow stripes nestled in close, and one with the rainbow stripes slightly spaced out---because in the end, I couldn’t remember which I’d seen.
No special stitches are involved in this hat; it’s just knitting, purling, and decreasing (knit two together and purl two together).
Materials needed:
-
Any worsted or light-worsted-weight yarn will work well for this hat. You’ll need at least 6 colors of yarn for your rainbow. The longest stripe uses no more than 5 meters of yarn.
-
Size 5–7 US / 3.75mm–4.5mm needles (depending on your tension): one 16” circular needle and a second circular needle (for magic loop or for using two circulars), or a set of double-pointed needles.
-
Nine stitch markers.
-
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
