The Bacino Socks (pronounced bah-CHEE-no) are a little ode to Venice’s Grand Canal and the way in which it snakes through the heart of the city and opens onto the Venetian lagoon. The sock pattern features a cable motif, passages of seed stitch and columns of two-by-two ribbing.

The pattern includes written and charted instructions. It is knit from the cuff down with a heel flap and gusset. This design is a collaboration with Little Lionhead Knits, using the Soft Sock base in the Venice and Earthenware Clay colorways.

Yarn
One 100-gram skein and one 20-gram mini skein of fingering weight sock yarn. Suggested yarn: Little Lionhead Knits Soft Sock base (85% SW Merino and 15% Nylon) in the Venice as the main colorway and Earthenware Clay as the contrast colorway.

US size 1 (2.25 mm) needle
Pattern is written using the Magic Loop method, but can easily be adapted for DPNs or 9” circular needles.

Gauge
34 stitches by 50 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch in the round, after blocking.

1 (56 stitches) // approx. 7” (17.5 cm) foot circumference
2 (64 stitches) // approx. 8” (20 cm) foot circumference
3 (72 stitches) // approx. 9” (22.5 cm) foot circumference
