Create your doll a lovely animal print summer dress with matching headband. The leopard motif will makes her dream that she is going on a safari somewhere in Africa.
CONSTRUCTION OF THE DRESSES:
The dresses are designed to fit 18’’ - 19’’ slim dolls such as Gotz Hannah® and Journey Girls®.
Both dresses knitted flat from hem upwards with a back seam until the bodice, then knitted across the stitches of both sides of the back so that the back will continue as one piece. Both written instructions and chart provided for the leopard motif rows. The leopard pattern is knitted over 24 sts and a 12 rows repeat. I have added an eyelet row with I - Cord band so that it does not have a baggy look. Included are instructions for knitting panties for the Journey Girls® and Gotz Hannah®.
The dress is a perfect fit for other dolls such as Gotz Happy Kidz®, 18’’ PetitCollin®Sylvia Natterer Starlette™ dolls. Optional I have included suggestions how to lengthen the dress by adding a few extra rows for 20’’ dolls such as Maru and Friends®.

Recommended Yarns: Any weight 2, fingering or 4ply yarn or cotton or any weight to obtain the appropriate gauge.

I used for the Journey Girls®: DMC Natura Just Cotton® 50 grams = 169.5 yards / 155.0 m as MC. Colorway 18 Coral and 40 grams = 135.6 yards / 124.0 m as CC.
Colorway 48 Chartreuse.
For Götz Hannah® : DMC Natura Just Cotton® 50 grams = 169.5 yards / 155.0 m as MC. Colorway 30 Glicine and 34 grams = 117.0 yards / 107.0 m as CC. Colorway 11 Noir.
For Maru and Friends® doll: Stylecraft Special® 4ply 40 grams = 184.6 yards / 168.8 m as MC. Colorway 1023 Raspberry and 20 gram = 92.3 yards / 84.4 m as CC. Colorway 1188 Lavender.

. Universal Yarn Pace® (75% wool + 25% polyamide)
. Needle sizes: Straight or circular knitting needles size US 2 (2.75 mm)
2 DPNS size US 2 (2.75 mm) if you are knitting an I-cord.
. Buttons: 4 (2 for each shoulder) size 3/8’’.
. Stitch holders or safety pins x 4.
. Stitch markers or scraps of yarn x 4
. Row counter or pencil to tick off after completion of each row.
. A few fabric pins
. Ruler or measuring tape
. Darning needle.
. Additional: Elastic thread for the headband and panties.

Skill Level: Confident beginner to intermediate.
