Bam 13
Pattern description from Stitch ‘N Bitch Nation: “Shortly after I learned to knit, I made a beautiful cashmere scarf for my husband, Bam, and we both agreed it was just too ‘nice’ for him. That’s when he said the magic words. ‘Why don’t you knit things that you’d never find in a shop? Scarves that look like rags instead of looking perfect. Sweaters that appear torn instead of flawless.’ I thought he’d hit on something interesting, and I set out to find the best yarn combination for this new concept. I started with a loosely knit scarf using a combination of a rag and chenille yarn, and that led to this sweater. I struggled a lot with the design and worked hard to figure out how to write the pattern, especially with such a big gauge. In fact, knitting these two yarns together is a little bit like wrestling, and it requires a good bit of manhandling to get it. Every few rows, you should give the whole piece a good tug downward to get the stitches a little more settles. But be prepared: No matter what you do, the rows will look uneven. That’s why it’s punk!”
