These mittens were especially designed for the beautifully soft Bamboulène yarn by Cheval Blanc. Naturally, the pattern had to contain bamboo and pandas. The pattern requires about a skein and a half of black and half a skein of white yarn.

The pattern consists of a chart including the bamboo and panda patterns, the increases for the thumb, and the decreases on the top. Because I am a left-handed knitter myself, the pattern includes instructions on how to read the chart for both right- and left-handed knitters.

The mittens fit a relatively small hand, and measure approximately 18 cm around the knockles. It might vary a bit depending on how tight you work the colourwork.

Because of the stranded colourwork, the work ends up nice and thick. This combined with the soft yarn, makes for a very comfortable pair of mittens.
