A combination of cables and lace stitches creates a basket weave pattern for a light, airy and warm cowl.

The size of the cowl is easily customizable by adding more repeats. The gauge is not critical and the pattern can be used successfully with different yarn weights, from fingering to worsted weight yarns.

Merino yarns have a good stitch definition and are recommended, as long as they are soft enough to be worn around the neck. Other yarns like silk, lambswool, cashmere and yarn blends can be used as well.
