This is a pattern for a basic knit hat with spiral decreases. It is knit in the round from the cuff up.

The basic design makes it super easy to add stripes, Fair Isle, textured stitches, whatever you want! You can make the ribbing longer, shorter, use a different brim stitch, or leave it off and have a rolled brim.

The hat in the photo was made using this pattern and adding the chart from Tiennie’s Norwegian Star Earflap Hat.
