This PDF crochet PATTERN gives you easy, step-by-step instructions how to crochet my Basket Case Mosaic Crochet Throw. This design uses the Inset/2-row style of mosaic crochet, which is far simpler than it looks. It uses the following stitches only: chain, double crochet and treble crochet in UK terms (so that’s chain, single crochet and double crochet in US terms).

Suitable for beginner level upwards, the 9-page pattern includes:

full written row-by-row instructions (UK crochet terms)
pattern notes
stitch abbreviations
special stitch instructions
mosaic crochet chart and instructions

You can either use the Scheepjes Chunky Monkey yarn listed in the pattern, or any similar yarn you like. I used 5 x balls Yarn A (1708 Petrol) and 5 x balls Yarn B (2017 Stone) to achieve this size. You will also need a 7mm crochet hook.

Your finished throw will measure approximately 100 x 105cm/40 x 41in. The pattern gives full details how to adjust the size to suit you with the starting chain multiple.

Please note: due to the nature of this 2-row inset version of mosaic crochet, short lengths of chain are made on the reverse. See photo of close-up of the reverse side. These can either be left loose or can be covered and incorporated into other stitches to hide them. Full details are given in the pattern.
