These are not bobbles – they’re baubles! They also remind me of strings of lights. And, as I was working them, I was also reminded of candy buttons as they are roughly the same size and shape!

These baubles only protrude from the fabric a small amount (so they don’t feel lumpy while wearing them), they don’t wiggle around, and they’re also not in danger of disappearing back into the fabric.

Sizes: XS (or child small), adult S (M, L) or 6, 7 (8, 9)” or about 15, 18 (20, 23) cm circumferences

Yarn:
Fingering weight yarn - 463 yds (423 m) per 100g
MC: 50-70g
CCs: 6 x 5g leftovers or minis

Needles: US size 1 (2.25mm)
Socks may be knit with any needle method you choose, but long circular needles are preferred for picking up afterthought heel stitches.

Notions: Tape measure, scissors with a pointy tip, stitch markers including 3 locking stitch markers, tapestry needle

Gauge: 32 stitches and 44 rows to 4” (10cm) worked in stockinette stitch in the round.


Sample shown is knit in size Medium with a 9” (23cm) foot length and used 44g of MC and approximately 3.5g for each CC.
