Description:
Bavarian twisted traveling stitches create a detailed texture that is similar to cable patterns but with finer lines and sharper stitch definition. This cropped pullover is inspired by the short, form-fitting jacket-sweaters worn by Bavarian and Austrian women with dirndl skirts in the early years of the twentieth century. The sleeves are made in plain stockinette stitch to give your hands a rest and to provide a contrast to the all-over dense patterning on the body. The sweater is made from the top down, so you can easily make it longer if you desire.

PATTERN NOTES
Because these twisted st patterns have maneuvers on every row, this sweater is worked in-the-round from the top down.
Steeks are used for armhole and neck shaping. The sleeves are picked up at the armholes and worked down to the cuff.
