This playful crescent shawl was inspired by colorful strings of beads tossed to party-goers during Mardi Gras.

The stripes of “beads” within this shawl are a variation of a stitch pattern known as Blister, Coin, or Shaded Bobble Stitch. Two large short-row wedges lend the shawl its shape, as well as give the striped sections their differing angles to further the illusion of swagged beads. The whole thing is finished with a picot bind-off for that extra flourish!
