Beaded Snowflake
Let your imagination be your guide when you think of all the different ways you could use this little snowflake. I’ve pictured it as the focal point of a snowflake-shaped mini scrapbook album I made. But it could also be used as a Christmas tree ornament, an applique, or in other ways.
The snowflake is crocheted in two layers. I love the beaded upper layer on its own; it has an interesting “retro” look about it. But put both layers together and the effect is beautiful!
The beadwork technique used to create this pattern is a little different than what you might be used to. It’s easy to learn, and it includes wire as part of the technique. I invite you to check out a free tutorial for learning this technique.
One of the great things about it is that if you want to use this snowflake as an ornament, or as part of a mobile or hanging, you don’t need to use starch or glue to stiffen it. The wire takes care of the stiffening for you all on its own.
