Beagle Puppy
NOTE:
If you’re knitting with Drops Sky as Yarn A you will need 2 balls not the one as listed in the first pattern batch.
Puppies.
That’s what I’d like to work on next and I’m starting with one which I think you could probably alter simply to create a few similar faced dogs especially if you choose the right colour yarn.
This - my Beagle Puppy pattern - is knitted almost as one piece, joining as you go with pick up stitches and shaping as you go with short rows - I said ‘almost’ because I decided to attach the ears and the hind paws separately - easily attached though.
As with all my patterns you ‘join as you go’ in a sort of modular way and I’ve also started to suggest you also stuff as you go! So, I’ve added lots of details about this - it makes the stuffing easier, in other words you won’t be overwhelmed with the stuffing part at the end which is always an issue I think, especially if you want to finish it quickly!!
Yarn-Wise: I’ve made suggestions as to the yarns I’ve used - the is now at the end of the pattern - for the actual yarn ingredients, at the start of the pattern, I’ve written this - so you can decide yourself which yarn to choose:
Unless otherwise stated, double strands of yarn are used together throughout this pattern. The exact combinations of yarn to be used are indicated by multiple letters so if the pattern states yarn AB use both A & B yarn held together as one, the yarns I used are listed on page 72:
YARN A 1 50g ball 4-ply/ fingering weight alpaca or merino yarn in white
YARN B 1 x 25g ball mohair/ lace weight yarn in white
YARN C 1 x 25g ball mohair/ lace weight yarn in pale pink
YARN D 1 x 25g ball mohair/ lace weight yarn in fawn, light-grey or beige
YARN E 1 50g ball 4-ply/ fingering weight alpaca or merino yarn in beige
YARN F 1 x 25g ball mohair/ lace weight yarn in beige
YARN G Very small amount 4-ply/ fingering weight yarn in brown or black
(just for the nose)
Plus - approx. 180cm / 2 yards of grey mohair for Nose Detail
Again - I think it’s better like this as the yarns I find are not always readily available everywhere.
Also, you’ll need 18mm safety eyes. Just brown ones which are available everywhere from Ebay, yarn stores, Etsy…
And finally - for a little video visual take a look at my Instagram Reel - my puppy, to me, is almost ‘real’ - that’s here IG Reel
