Grab your ear muffs quick - Bean The Mandrake Sprout is ready to move into a bigger plant pot! Add a bit of wire around the mouth and enjoy all the expressions Bean can make, he is particularly fond of singing.

The instructions are written in US crochet terms. There are step-by-step photos detailing how to make the pieces and finish the toy. Mandrake is around 23cm/9in tall when made in DK weight cotton with 3mm hook. The plant pot is around 10cm/4in tall.

You’ll need to know how to:

・make a Magic Ring
・work in a round
・single crochet
・increase/decrease
・chain stitch
・slip stitch
・half double crochet
・double crochet
・work along a chain
・work in front loops / back loops / third loop

The pattern can be made in a variety of yarn combinations, using thicker yarns will produce bigger mandrake. The samples are made in DK weight cotton with 3.0mm hook.

You will need:
Paintbox Cotton DK, 50g/125m
2 balls/65g of main body colour
and around 10g of dark brown and 10g of green for the details.

The plant pot uses 1 ball/50g of yarn.

You will also need some 7mm black safety eyes, craft pipe cleaners and some thick, toy stuffing and foam fabric stabiliser or thick felt.
