Beanstalk Cowl
The annual Indie Design Gift-A-Long has begun, and this pattern is part of our grand kick-off sale! Use the coupon code giftalong2024 to get 25% off until midnight on the 27th of November (US EST).
Columns of lacy leaves and half-twisted ribbing form the crisply-textured fabric of the Beanstalk Cowl, a companion design to the Beanstalk Hat and Beanstalk Shawl. The cowl is worked from the top down, and occasional increase rounds create a tapered shape which allows it to pool gracefully around the neck.
Skills & Techniques:
The Long Tail Cast On (optional), working in the round, working lace stitches and twisted stitches.
Materials Needed:
1 skein of Farmhaus Fibres Homestead Merino (100% Non Super Wash Merino; 437yds/400m per 100g skein), or
417yds/381.5m of fingering-weight yarn.
Sample colourway: ‘Perfect Day’.
For clear, crisp texture I recommend choosing a non-superwash wool yarn in a solid or near-solid shade.
You will also need 1 end-of-round stitch marker, 7 additional markers, and a needle for weaving in the ends.
Finished Measurements:
Relaxed after blocking: 22”/56cm narrowest circumference, 32”/81cm widest circumference, and 11”/28cm height.
Charts and written instructions are both provided in full.
