The Beechenhurst Wrap is inspired by the beautiful wooded hills that surround my home in the Forest of Dean and named for a popular local beauty spot.

Every spring a magical transformation occurs, when the dark woods of oak, birch, beech and chestnut, naked and silent and shrouded in mist, burst into life with the freshest of green leaves. I watch the transformation across the forest from my hilltop abode in awe – it all happens so fast and is a wonderful herald of warmer days to come…

The wrap is knit on the bias with an i-cord edging, lovely squishy garter stitch and lace panels and will take you through the seasons as an elegent stole for cooler summer evenings, a loose cowl for autumn adventures, or a cosy scarf to keep the winter chills at bay.

Blacker Yarns’ Tamar 4ply is the perfect combination of lustre, drape and character for this deceptively simple knit (although it contains plenty of knitterly details to keep more experienced knitters happy)

I have included full written instructions for the entire wrap, including colour changes. I know some knitters prefer charts so I have also included charts for both the lace sections and these can be found on page 5 of the pattern.

Yarn requirements:
Beechenhurst Wrap is designed to be knit in three colours and uses approximately 250m/273yds of each colour. If you wanted to make your wrap in a single colour you would need approx 750m/820yds.
