BeechNut
BeechNut is a fun, quick and pretty easy pattern. The scarf is created in three pieces. The center panel which is knit all at once, and the two edgings which are sewn into place. The alpaca blend gives it a great drape and the bulky yarn adds to the warmth.
The edging is subtile leaves adding the leaves to my BeechNut tree. I happen to have a Beech Nut tree in my yard so this was a fun project to create!! You can knit this with any type of yarn but use a needle larger than what the yarn calls for to get the same type of drape and remember that the size will most likely be altered.
Written instructions for all and charted instructions for the edging.
Here are the stitches you need to know
K—knit
P—purl
p2tog—purl two stitches together
K2tog knit 2 stitches together through front loops
YO—yarn over needle to create new stitch
Ssk—knit 2 stitches through back loops
plus there is a cable -slip next 4 stitches onto cable hook and hold in front, k2, then slip the center 2 stitches from cable hook onto needle and knit, then k2 from cable hook
If you can do these stitches you can make this scarf!!!
