Part of the welcome distractions collection - knits for these difficult times - each hat has a detail you have to focus on - I find this helps to calm a busy mind.

This one is based on the beetle cable and has a crown that forms a peace sign (seemed appropriate for troubled times).

The hat is started from a provisional cast-on - you work the main section first and then go back and pick up the stitches to work the cuff - the advantages of this are that you won’t have to worry about running out of yarn and that you’ll be able to get the exact fit you want.

Originally designed for a single skein of Mecha

Mecha works beautifully worked at this gauge, but if you are substituting other yarns, you may find Aran or even Worsted work better than a yarn listed as bulky.
