Beinn Airigh Charr

This simple hap, with its decorative scallop-shell border, is inspired by women’s work in the shielings of Wester Ross. It’s named for the beautiful shieling hill which you can see (and walk to) from Poolewe.

Pattern notes
This hap is knitted, back and forth, all in one piece, in two contrasting shades throughout, from edge to tip. First a deep, decorative border is worked in scallop-shell lace, then the body of the hap is worked in simple garter stitch stripes. Decreases along one side create an elongated triangular shape, while a two-tone braided edge is created at the end of each row with slip stitches.
