Bella Ruffled Top
This design was inspired by the newer ruffled yarns that are now available, but I wanted to do something other than a ruffled scarf! The Bella Ruffled Tank was born, using a lovely, soft DK weight yarn from Crystal Palace, Panda Silk DK. This yarn has a super soft feel, and knits up beautifully. It’s a combination of 52% bamboo, 43% superwash merino, and 5% combed silk. I chose a self striping colorway in blues and purples, with a touch of tawny gold. The ruffle is a complementary colorway.
The Bella Ruffled Top is a reversible top, with a wide scoop neck that can be worn with the scoop in the front or the back. It features ruffles near the top edge, a fitted shape with dart-like decreases in the mid-section, and a picot edge along the hemlines. Worked from the bottom up, with set-in sleeves, it is knitted in Stockinette stitch, so the other design and construction elements stand out. The sleeves are half length, coming to just above the elbow, perfect for springtime. This garment is a classic with a modern twist, and can be dressed up or down, depending on the whims of the wearer.
