Light and graceful - lace and garter stitches combine to create a lovely cardigan for spring. Slip stitches accent the garter stitch hem and cuffs, and I-cord finishes the elegant neck band.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust - 34½ (37, 39, 41½, 44)(46, 48½, 50½, 53)“, based on twice finished back measurement. Fronts open at center approx 1¾ (1¾, 2, 2¼, 1¾)(2, 2, 1¾, 1¾)”
Intended to be worn with 2 - 3” of ease.
Length - 21½ (21½, 22, 22, 22½)(22½, 23, 23, 23½)“.

YARN: 1150 (1200, 1285, 1340, 1450)(1485, 1575, 1620, 1720) yds DK weight wool, wool blend, or cotton blend. Shown in Spirit Trail Fiberworks “Birte” (75% superwash merino wool, 15% cashmere, 10% bomybx silk; 275yds/115g) - Glacier.

NEEDLES: U.S. size 6 (4mm) 32” (80cm)circular needle.
Circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of collar band stitches.
Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge.

OTHER: Stitch holders, tapestry needle, extra needle for 3-needle bind off.

GAUGE: 21 sts/32 rows = 4” in Lace and Garter, blocked.

SKILL LEVEL: Advanced beginner. Techniques include long tail cast on, knitted cast on, I-cord bind off, 3-needle bind off, simple lace, and m1 increases.

CONSTRUCTION: Fronts and back are knit separately from the bottom up and shoulders are joined with 3-needle bind off. Modified drop sleeves are knit from the bottom up and sewn into the armholes. Stitches are picked up for the garter stitch collar band, which is finished with an I-cord bind off. Sides and underarms are seamed.
